School and Sport Partnerships’ Awards

InnovationThe School and Sport Partnerships’ Innovation Awards 2008 will identify innovation and recognise good practice that can be showcased and used to help shape delivery in priority areas across the country and support the delivery of the PE and Sport Strategy for Young People.

This year the School Sport Partnerships will be identified and nominated through their Youth Sport Trust Development Manager’s on an area basis. Those exceptional nominees will be put forward to a final judging panel where winners and highly commended shall be recognised and awarded on the first night of the School and Sport Partnerships’ Conference.

The School and Sport Partnerships’ Innovation Awards 2008 shall consist of three Innovation Awards and three Recognition Awards across the following categories:

Innovation Awards –

  • The creation of a new activity/approach to engaging the diverse needs of young people.
  • Actively engaging with all young people to identify and deliver appealing activities and appropriate environments.
  • The use of technology to communicate with KS4 young people to increase participation.

Recognition Awards –

  • Using alternative activities to embrace new partners in the delivery of OSHL i.e. parents, community partners or providers.
  • Using outdoor and adventure activities as a support resource to assist with KS2/3Transition.
  • Increasing participation in KS4 competition i.e. intra and / or inter.
