May PDM Interface Sessions
Final PDM networking events for the academic year. At this round of sessions PDMs will receive national updates on Playground to Podium; FESCo’s and the National Education and Training Programme for SSPs. There will also be opportunities to have focussed discussion time on locally identified issues.
Next year the interface days will be spread out through the year. There will be one each term. The first in November will be a joint event with Directors of Specialiam; Subject Leaders and Partnership Development Managers.

Intra School Competition training workshops
National School Sport Week 2008 will see the launch of a new resource to support schools in establishing vibrant and modern intra-school competition programmes. The vision is that intra-school competition will focus on engagement and enjoyment by all through a social or recreational experience and embraces the needs of local young people aged 11-16.
Yorkshire/East Midlands & London /South East are the two areas have been identified to pilot training workshops to support SSCOs in the delivery of Intra School Competition.

Expression of Interest
The Youth Sport Trust, in conjunction with the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and practitioners within School Sport Partnerships (SSPs) have been delivering the Foundation and KS1 Participation Award for the past 3 years. The award is designed to support 3-7 year olds record and increase their participation in physical activity and is aimed at primary schools, special schools and early year settings to support their delivery of physical education, physical activity and out of school hours learning in sport.
Workshops will be established across the country during the months of January and February 09 for early year sites and primary schools wishing to access the award. Our School Support Unit will be sending out expression of interest forms to all PDMs during the summer term, but if you are interested and would like further information directly then please e-mail joanne.wright@youthsporttrust.org with your details.
