It’s only one week to go until National School Sport Week, which kicks off on Monday 30 June, spearheaded by Dame Kelly Holmes.
Schools throughout the country will be celebrating their amazing
achievements in PE and school sport over the last year as well as
introducing new initiatives and developments. This summer we will see
the launch of new impetus and innovative developments in Intra School
Competition as well as the launch of the National Network of
Competition Managers for inter school competition.
Activities taking place during National School Sport Week include:
-
Festivals of Sport (TOP Sportsability, Multi-skill and Multi-sport
festivals) Young Leaders have been trained through TOP Link (within
Step into Sport) to plan and run these festivals for primary aged young
people.
-
Intra-school competition led by School Sport Coordinators and supported by young leaders.
-
Inter-school competition led and organised by existing Competition Managers.
-
Innovative and creative ideas organised at a local level.
National School Sport Week is set to be a week to remember, aiming to
raise the profile of PE and school sport both nationally and locally.
