Induction Support Seminars
An induction programme for New HT, DOS & SL in existing Sports Colleges and DOS & SL in newly designated Sports Colleges
As part of the Youth Sport Trust’s support to Sports Colleges and Academies with Sports Related Specialism’s we will be holding two Induction Seminar’s early in the new academic year.
Headteacher Induction
30 September, London
This induction for new Head Teachers in existing Sports Colleges and Chairs of Governors will be held at The Church House Conference Centre in London. It is intended that the day will support Head Teachers in their new role, examine specific policy developments with respect to the specialist schools programme, provide a valuable opportunity to network with Head Teacher colleagues and inspire at the beginning of the new school year. In addition to our Chief Executive we are hoping to be joined by senior officers from the DCSF and some high profile guests.

Director of Specialism and Subject Leader Induction
7 and 8 October, Leicester
This induction for new Directors of Specialism and Subject Leaders in existing Sports Colleges and Directors of Specialism and Subject Leaders in newly designated Sports Colleges will be held at Leicester City Football Club. The following key themes will be covered over the two days:
- PESSYP Strategy
- Vision, ethos and expectations of a Sports College
- Roles and responsibilities
- Monitoring and evaluation
- Standards in the specialism
- Using the specialism to raise whole school achievement
- Youth Sport Trust support programme
