What to do next if you are interested in becoming a Leadership Partner School.
If you have not already been invited by the DCSF to take on a high performing role then make sure you are aware of the criteria you need to match to become a High Performing Specialist School. This is contained in the specialist schools guidance which can be found on the DCSF website.
If you have already been invited to take on a high performing role, take a look at the Leadership Partner School guidance which is in the HPSS section of DCSF website.
There are some helpful self assessment questions contained in this guidance.
It would be very useful for you to understand what is happening locally with regard to leadership development and succession planning. Each local authority is working in partnership with the National College to implement a local strategy and will have a named person leading this development. If you are not aware of this local strategy or do not know the name of the person leading this for your local authority then the relevant regional national succession consultant for the National College will be able to help you.
Please email: successionplanning@nationalcollege.org.uk
The Youth Sport Trust will be able to provide you with support at every stage of the process. It may be that you wish to visit or make contact with one of the existing Leadership Partner Schools and the Youth Sport Trust will be able to advise which of these schools would be a good match for you.
