Intra School Competition training workshops

CheeringNational School Sport Week 2008 will see the launch of a new resource to support schools in establishing vibrant and modern intra-school competition programmes.  The vision is that intra-school competition will focus on engagement and enjoyment by all through a social or recreational experience and embraces the needs of local young people aged 11-16.

Yorkshire/East Midlands & London /South East are the two areas have been identified to pilot training workshops to support SSCOs in the delivery of Intra School Competition.

The Youth Sport Trust would like to invite the following people to these training days:

  • Two SSCos from each School Sport partnership in these two areas
  • All Competition managers from these areas
  • A representative from each County Sport Partnership

These people have been invited as all roles have a remit for competition.  It is vital that each person is clear around the national picture, targets that they need to be working towards and how they can work together more effectively to achieve these targets.

Workshops:

  • 16th June – Charlton FC (London)
  • 18th June 2008 - Angel Centre, Tonbridge (South East)
  • 19th June 2008 – Leeds United FC (Yorkshire/East Midlands)
